12th Annual Shadyside... The Art Festival on Walnut Street

Saturday August 29 & Sunday August 30, 2009

Show Hours: Saturday 10am-9pm and Sunday 10am-5pm

Shadyside on Walnut Street in Pittsburgh, PA
Please note, the show is now a two day show, Saturday and Sunday.

Walnut Street in Shadyside, a popular downtown shopping district of Pittsburgh, will transform into a living, breathing art gallery with 150 exhibitors from around the nation for the 12th Annual Shadyside ...The Art Festival on Walnut Street. Like all Howard Alan events, the 12th Annual Shadyside is a juried show, which means each participating artist is hand-selected from hundreds of applicants to ensure a first-class festival with only the highest qual ity, original artwork.

All exhibiting artists are required to be at the festival the entire weekend. This gives you the unique opportunity to meet the creators of the art on display; commission a specific piece; ask questions about techniques; learn the sources of their inspirations; and purchase fine works of art at affordable prices. All of the work on display is available for purchase, and with prices ranging from $15 earrings to $50 prints to $20,000 sculptures, there is always something for everyone.

Venue: Walnut Street between South Aiken Avenue and South Negley Avenue

Where there's port, there's water!

This past weekend's Inner Harbor event was a BIG SUCCESS in Maryland, despite the persisting rain Saturday afternoon. With the harbor ships setting the Hollywood-esque scene, the crowd enjoyed a day of fine arts, good eats and smooth tunes.

The harbor was turned into an outdoor gallery, with over 150 tents lining the streets, and hundreds of onlookers coming out to check out the assortment of art. Our artists and guests alike weren't fazed by the falling drops, as the tented displays offered solace from the inclement weather.
